The funding round was led by 645 Ventures and will be used to accelerate product development and team expansion.
"I started Sequence afiter a decade watching fiinance teams fiace an impossible choice: drown in manual billing work or rely on systems that break when sales teams close custom deals. Hereʼs whatʼs happening in fiinance teams – brilliant people spend 80% ofi their time on repetitive tasks like calculating invoices by hand, chasing unpaid bills, and reconciling transactions, while revenue slips through the cracks because complex contracts are hard to track. Sales shouldnʼt be constrained by what the billing engine can support. With Sequence, teams can price and sell in the way thatʼs best fior customers and the business, while Finance has peace ofi mind knowing every contract, no matter how custom, is handled accurately."
Speedinvest led the oversubscribed pre-seed round to support product development and international growth.
"By utilising AI to automatically digitise the things users own from the point of purchase, we’re making it possible for people to receive offers on items they haven’t actively listed for sale,"
The Manchester based fintech secured the capital from backers including scout funds from a16z, Atomico, and Ada Ventures.
"We’re humbled by the calibre of investors who have chosen to back us at this pivotal stage of the journey. It’ss a testament to the clear need for our solution in the market, with many of our investors intimately familiar with the value of opening up Lombard lending. "We've focused on building a capital-efficient, independent business that was both high-growth and sustainable from the outset. Although we have more cash-on-hand than we've raised, we wanted to bring on new expertise in our target markets as we continue our growth into new verticals and geographies. We are delighted to have attracted a world-class set of investors who bring an unparalleled combination of experience, expertise, and support to hyperexponential in the next phase of our expansion."
