24Haymarket is a private capital firm focused on early-stage venture and growth equity investments in the UK, backing high-potential businesses with patient capital.
The financing round was supported by 24 Haymarket and Mercia to fund regional expansion and product development.
"There is a wealth of technical talent in the Midlands, which is clear from the leading research that repeatedly comes out of the region. We are clear at CyberOwl that we need to go where the talent is. We were born out of research at Coventry University and are excited about the prospect of building up a research and development base in the MIdlands."
The funding round was led by 24 Haymarket with participation from Innovate UK.
"I was shocked that despite being a treatable condition, pneumonia kills one million children under-five every year – more than HIV, malaria, and TB combined. When I realised these deaths can be avoided through early diagnosis, I became obsessed with finding a way to solve the problem."
The follow-on investment will fund the commercial launch of new pancreatic and lung stem cell products.
