The Bristol startup raised the capital from SCVC, Foresight Venture Capital, and Verve Ventures to scale operations and accelerate sensor deployment.
Zero Point Motion develops advanced motion sensors by combining silicon photonics with micro-electro-mechanical systems. The startup provides high-precision accelerometers and gyroscopes for environments lacking GPS access.
Bristol sensor technology developer Zero Point Motion has secured £4m in a pre-Series A funding round to advance its optical and mechanical navigation equipment. The investment was backed by SCVC, Foresight Venture Capital, and Verve Ventures, alongside ongoing strategic partner u-blox.
The capital will support the company as it scales operations following its emergence from stealth mode. Zero Point Motion applies gravitational wave detection principles to create miniaturised sensors for sectors including defence, space, and autonomous transport.
SCVC participated alongside existing backers to help accelerate commercial deployment and product qualification. The funding adds to previous public sector awards from the UK government and the European Innovation Council.

Investor perspective
"Foresight initially invested in Zero Point Motion in 2021 to help Lia and the founding team bring this breakthrough sensing technology into the public domain. We are encouraged by the progress the team has made and the growing market need for accurate navigation and positioning in challenging environments. We are delighted to support the business in this recent funding round and welcome SCVC onboard."
