Worldr provides zero trust security and compliance layers for popular business communication and collaboration software. The firm allows enterprises to maintain data sovereignty by storing communications within their own environment.

London security software provider Worldr has secured £9.7m in seed funding to expand its zero trust architecture capabilities. The investment round was led by Molten Ventures, with participation from existing backers IQ Capital and Playfair Capital alongside specialist funds including Pretiosum Ventures, Navigate VC and MD One Ventures.

The capital will support the company as it meets surging demand for data sovereignty tools in response to rising cyberattacks and stricter regulatory scrutiny. Worldr plans to advance its software-agnostic products, including solutions designed to help financial institutions maintain compliance while using messaging applications such as WhatsApp.

Alongside the funding, the company is preparing for geographic expansion by establishing new offices in New York and Dubai. These international hubs will support relationships with partners such as Microsoft and help scale operations across the US and the Middle East.

From the founder

"Data sovereignty has never been more important. The increase in cyberattacks, data localisation requirements, and scrutiny from regulators mean that it is no longer enough to blindly trust that collaboration platforms are keeping business communications secure and compliant. Companies rightfully want control of their data to protect themselves against operational, reputational and regulatory risk. This has not only fuelled demand for our zero trust architecture for Microsoft Teams, but we are also being challenged to apply this solution across an organisation’s entire software environment. This funding will be critical to helping us further this mission and scale to meet the demand."

Investor perspective

"The move towards zero trust and data sovereignty is becoming critical for any entity which deals with sensitive information. Worldr’s unique product set optimises for privacy, security and data protection with seamless integration into existing enterprise software. Crucially, with Worldr, data is controlled by the enterprise itself, marking an incredibly important step forward in data sovereignty."
