Wefarm has raised £3.5m in an additional seed funding round led by True Ventures, with participation from Accelerated Digital Ventures. Prominent angel investors also contributed to the raise.
The capital will support the company as it expands its reach and develops its product capabilities. Wefarm provides a platform that allows small-scale farmers, particularly those without internet access, to connect and solve agricultural challenges.
The network currently serves users in Kenya and Uganda, leveraging machine learning and crowd-sourced knowledge to deliver farming insights via SMS.
