Warwick Acoustics secures £2.8m seed follow-on investment from Mercia and existing backers
The Midlands-based audio technology company raised the funds from existing shareholders to accelerate development of its in-car systems.
Warwick Acoustics develops sustainable electrostatic loudspeaker technology designed for premium automotive audio systems. The Nuneaton-based firm originated as a spin-out from Warwick University.
Warwick Acoustics has secured £2.8m in a seed follow-on funding round from existing shareholders, including Mercia Asset Management, alongside a small group of high-net-worth investors. Mercia contributed £1m to the raise, bringing its total direct equity stake to 35.8 percent, with additional holdings through third-party managed funds.
The fresh capital will support the company in building on commercial progress achieved over the past year and accelerating the development of its inaugural in-car audio systems. Warwick Acoustics recently demonstrated a full system operating within a vehicle and completed three customer-funded proof-of-concept projects.
The business supplies audio systems across four continents and has experienced strong demand for its BRAVURA electrostatic headphone system following its launch in September.
