The wellness app has raised £8.5m in a Series B round led by Accelerated Digital Ventures to expand its service platform.
Urban operates an on-demand wellness platform providing at-home treatments such as massage, beauty, and physiotherapy through a network of independent professionals. The business serves clients across London, Paris, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Urban has secured £8.5m in a Series B funding round led by Accelerated Digital Ventures, with participation from existing backers Passion Capital and Felix Capital. The capital will support the company as it nears profitability and works towards establishing itself as a comprehensive destination for on-demand wellness services. Alongside the investment, Urban is recruiting a team of 30 engineers in Lithuania to develop its marketplace platform and client applications.
The raise follows a period of service expansion for the London-based business, which introduced osteopathy, facial, and nail treatments alongside its established massage offerings in late 2018. The company intends to use the backing to scale its operations sustainably while improving unit economics and supporting independent wellness practitioners.
