Unlikely AI raises £17.4m in a seed round co-led by Amadeus Capital Partners and Octopus Ventures to advance its artificial intelligence technology.
Amadeus Capital Partners and Octopus Ventures co-led the seed round to support product development and team expansion.
Unlikely AI is a London-based start-up developing advanced artificial intelligence products designed to tackle tasks previously thought impossible for computers. Founded by veteran tech entrepreneur William Tunstall-Pedoe, the firm takes a novel approach to machine intelligence.
London-based artificial intelligence developer Unlikely AI has secured £17.4m in a seed funding round co-led by Amadeus Capital Partners and Octopus Ventures. The financing also drew participation from Cambridge Innovation Capital and Metaplanet, among others. The capital will be deployed to accelerate product development and expand the company's engineering team as it advances its core technology.
The raise follows a previous £1.1m angel funding round completed in October 2020. The company was established by William Tunstall-Pedoe, whose previous venture, Evi Technologies, was acquired by Amazon and laid the groundwork for the creation of Alexa.
