Playfair Capital has backed the health technology firm in its latest funding round.
uMed operates a health and research technology platform that connects healthcare providers with clinical studies. The system automates patient identification and data collection to support medical research.
London health technology company uMed has secured seed investment from Playfair Capital. The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding the firm international research network.
Playfair Capital led the investment round, backing uMed's platform which combines electronic health records with targeted patient outreach. The technology allows healthcare providers to conduct clinical trials with minimal disruption to in-house staff.
Chief executive Matt Wilson welcomed the backing of the London-based investor, noting shared ambitions to make clinical studies more accessible. Chris Smith of Playfair Capital cited the team's expertise as a core driver for the partnership.
