UltraSoC raises £5m from eCAPITAL and Seraphim Capital to expand operations and target security applications

The oversubscribed round was backed by new investors eCAPITAL and Seraphim Capital alongside existing backers.

£5.0MSeries C

UltraSoC develops embedded analytics technology that provides monitoring and diagnostics at the fundamental hardware level for semiconductor products. The company enables developers to tackle complex design challenges across cybersecurity and functional safety.

UltraSoC has secured £5m in a heavily oversubscribed equity funding round backed by eCAPITAL and Seraphim Capital alongside existing investors. The fresh capital will support the company as it scales its global footprint, grows engineering talent in Cambridge and Bristol, and establishes a new technical hub in Warsaw. The investment arrives during a period of strong commercial momentum, following technology adoptions by major market players including Seagate and Western Digital.

The newly introduced backers bring targeted sector expertise that aligns with UltraSoC's ambitions in high-reliability systems and cybersecurity. Willi Mannheims of eCAPITAL and James Bruegger of Seraphim Capital have joined the board in investor director and observer capacities respectively. The funding will allow the business to capitalise on growing demand for hardware-based safety and security solutions.

From the founder

"Developers are struggling to cope with the need for trusted solutions for cybersecurity and functional safety. UltraSoC is uniquely able to provide such features at the fundamental hardware level. eCAPITAL and Seraphim add sector-specific focus and expertise in cybersecurity and in the aerospace ecosystem, where functional safety and reliability are paramount. I’m delighted to have secured their support alongside our existing major investors who have recommitted in this latest funding round."

Investor perspective

"We are excited to join forces with UltraSoC, which is leading the way in embedded analytics. UltraSoC has developed a novel approach to cybersecurity that places anomaly detection directly into the silicon, enabling hardware-based threat detection. This can identify attacks very quickly – in microseconds rather than milliseconds. It is also more robust than traditional techniques, because it is ‘below the OS’ and is therefore very hard for an attacker to detect, circumvent or subvert."
