Legal technology business ThoughtRiver has secured £7.5m in Series A funding to support its international expansion and technology rollout. The investment was led by Octopus Ventures, with participation from a group of existing backers including Crane, LocalGlobe, Entrée Capital, SyndicateRoom, and angel investor Duncan Painter.

The fresh capital will be directed towards growing US market share, scaling sales and marketing operations, and integrating further with major technology partners. The raise follows a period of strong customer growth for the firm, which has recently signed major corporate clients and established a strategic partnership with PwC.
