The Alcoholic Water Company secures six-figure seed funding from Scotmid Coop and Scottish Enterprise
Scotmid Coop and Scottish Enterprise back the hard seltzer producer to accelerate domestic and international growth.
The Alcoholic Water Company is a Glasgow-based producer of premium hard seltzers, founded in late 2019 by veterans of the drinks industry.
The Alcoholic Water Company has secured a six-figure seed investment from Scotmid Coop and Scottish Enterprise. The funding will support the company as it expands its footprint in UK grocery stores, accelerates international growth, and pursues B-Corp accreditation.
Founded in late 2019 by the teams behind The Start-Up Drinks Lab and Whitelabel Group, the business combines manufacturing and marketing expertise. Its debut brand, Lilo, is a low-calorie, low-ABV hard seltzer crafted with soft Scottish water and bespoke botanical spirits.
Investor perspective
"We are delighted to be partnering with the founders to establish this Start Up. They bring not only experience but drive and passion to the brand. We can see from our retail insight that this is a fast growing sector of the market and there are opportunities to establish a brand at the premium end."
