Synthax secures £500k from Fuel Ventures to expand its healthcare artificial intelligence platform.
The oversubscribed round was led by Fuel Ventures to accelerate growth across the UK and the US.
Synthax provides an artificial intelligence operating system tailored for outpatient clinics. The platform automates documentation and streamlines workflows to reduce administrative pressure on medical staff.
Synthax has secured £500k in an oversubscribed funding round led by Fuel Ventures, with participation from Mount Fund, Antler, and US based cardiologists. The capital will be directed towards expanding the engineering team, advancing product development, and scaling commercial operations across the UK and the US.
Founded by NHS physician Dr. Shaheer Aslam Joiya and CTO Mark Murtagh, the company addresses administrative burdens and legacy software challenges faced by outpatient clinics. The fresh funding follows a £6.5m post-money valuation as the business seeks to bring modern automation and decision support tools to smaller healthcare providers.
From the founder
"As a clinician, I’ve seen how much of our time is swallowed by paperwork and antiquated systems. Synthax is our answer to that – to equip outpatient clinics with the same AI advantages larger institutions enjoy. The gap in this market is enormous, particularly in the US where thousands of independent clinics still lack access to modern tools. This investment will enable us to hire top engineering talent and accelerate our growth across the US and beyond."

Investor perspective
"Shaheer and Mark are tackling one of the biggest inefficiencies in healthcare with practical, scalable technology. Outpatient clinics are an essential but underserved part of the system, and Synthax’s platform brings the benefits of AI to a space long overlooked by innovation. We’re excited to back a team with deep domain insight and proven technical execution as they expand across the US and the UK."
