London-based carbon data provider Sylvera has raised $57m in a Series B funding round led by Balderton Capital. The round included participation from existing backers Index Ventures, Insight Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Speedinvest, Seedcamp, and LocalGlobe, alongside new investors Fidelity Strategic Ventures, Bain & Company, and 9Yards Capital.
The capital will be deployed to support the company expansion into the United States with a new office in New York. Sylvera provides transparent data and ratings for carbon credits to help corporations and governments measure and report their climate impact accurately.
This financing brings the total amount raised by the company to $96m. The round follows a period of rapid customer growth and the recent appointment of Serge Kruppa as Chief Technical Officer.
From the founder
"There is a serious lack of data to demonstrate progress against net zero targets and to prove that carbon emissions are actually being reduced or removed from the atmosphere. This uncertainty has created inaction–Sylvera is changing that,"
