Summize secures £40m from Maven Capital Partners and other backers to drive international expansion.

Maven Capital Partners led a £40m investment alongside Kennet Partners, Federated Hermes Private Equity, and YFM Equity Partner.
Summize provides an artificial intelligence powered contract lifecycle management platform that integrates directly with everyday workplace software. The business helps corporate legal teams automate workflows and streamline document management.
Contract lifecycle management provider Summize has secured £40m in a new funding and reinvestment round led by Maven Capital Partners. The transaction also drew participation from new backers Kennet Partners and Federated Hermes Private Equity alongside existing investor YFM Equity Partner.
The capital infusion will support the company as it advances its artificial intelligence capabilities and expands its international footprint. Summize integrates directly into collaboration and productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Slack, and Salesforce to help corporate legal departments reduce manual administrative tasks.
The deal includes a substantial injection from Maven's institutional buyout fund and its deal-by-deal vehicle, marking the third transaction for the firm's UK Regional Buyout Fund II. The agreement also delivers a partial exit for earlier venture capital trust investors while retaining a significant equity stake.
From the founder
"We founded Summize to bring contract clarity to the entire business, and Maven, along with our additional investors, has been a key partner in supporting that mission. Contracting shouldn’t be a bottleneck for growing midsize companies, so our goal is to help in-house legal teams use AI to reduce manual work and spend more time as strategic partners and business accelerators."

Investor perspective
"This investment highlights Maven’s long-standing commitment to support innovative, founder-led technology businesses with global potential. Summize has progressed from an early-stage concept into a highly scalable SaaS platform with a growing international customer base. We are delighted to lead this new investment in Summize at a pivotal point in its growth journey, and the opportunity to partner with experienced investor, Kennet Partners, who bring considerable US market expertise and B2B software specialism, will further strengthen the platform for future expansion."
