Seldon secures £2.7m in a seed round led by Amadeus Capital Partners to expand its team and software offerings.
Amadeus Capital Partners led the seed round with participation from Global Brain Corporation, Techstars and existing investors.
Seldon is a London-based machine learning deployment specialist that provides open-source DevOps tools for enterprises. The company helps organisations manage, serve, and monitor their machine learning models at scale.
London-based machine learning deployment platform Seldon has secured £2.7m in a seed funding round led by Amadeus Capital Partners. The raise also drew participation from Global Brain Corporation, Techstars, Force Over Mass Capital, Playfair Capital, Cascade Global and various angel investors.
The capital will be used to support the company as it prepares to double its team size in 2019 and rolls out its new enterprise-scale software, Seldon Deploy. Seldon already counts a large community of users for its initial offering, Seldon Core, which experienced significant growth through the previous year.
The fresh injection of funds highlights continued commercial momentum across sectors such as fintech and retail, where the platform supports business-critical applications including FX trading and stock optimisation. Amadeus Capital Partners joins the cap table alongside existing backers to fuel the next phase of growth for the open-source pioneer.
From the founder
"Machine learning is revolutionising every industry. It has become much easier to build predictive models but deploying and managing these models in production is the limiting factor."
Alex Housley
CEO and founder at Seldon
Investor perspective
"There has been a lot of hype around machine learning but real-world applications are where the rubber must now hit the road. Seldon’s open standard approach can ‘democratise’ access to AI’s benefits beyond big tech companies. We’re pleased to be funding Seldon as it looks to double its team size in 2019."
