Satellite Vu secures £3.6m in seed funding led by Seraphim Capital to build its thermal imaging satellite constellation.

The oversubscribed seed round was led by Seraphim Capital and will finance the construction of the company's inaugural satellite.
Satellite Vu is a climate technology company that captures high-resolution thermal data from space to measure human activity and energy efficiency. Its space-enabled monitoring provides insight into economic activity and carbon footprints.
Satellite Vu has secured £3.6m in a seed funding round led by Seraphim Capital to initiate the construction of its first satellite. The financing will support the development of high-resolution thermal imaging technology designed to monitor building energy efficiency and economic activity.
The round drew strong backing from a range of specialist investors, including A/O PropTech, Ridgeline Ventures, the Earth Science Foundation, E2MC Ventures, and Stellar Solutions. The capital marks a key step for the company as it prepares for its first orbital launch in 2022.
Investor perspective
"We believe that high resolution infrared satellite data holds enormous promise for positively impacting the world. A combination of poor resolution, high cost and infrequency of data capture has held back the application of this high impact dataset for decades. We’ve backed Satellite Vu because it alone has the technology to address all these issues and make high resolution infrared the next major category of Space data."
