RETìníZE secures £2m from Sure Valley Ventures to scale virtual reality animation software

Belfast-based creative technology startup RETìníZE has secured £2m in seed funding to support the international rollout of its virtual reality animation product, Animotive. The investment round was led by Sure Valley Ventures, marking the inaugural deployment from the investor's £95m UK software fund.
The capital will finance the next two years of business expansion for the company, which originated as a spin-off from independent television producer Wild Rover Productions. Animotive aims to alter the traditional three-dimensional animation production pipeline by integrating virtual reality technology to simplify character animation.
Sure Valley Ventures contributed an initial £1m tranche from its newly established fund, which is backed by a £50m commitment from the British Business Bank. The backer plans to invest in 25 software companies across the UK as part of its ongoing regional expansion strategy.
