Productive Machines builds autonomous milling optimisation software that helps manufacturers reduce waste and improve productivity. The company provides SaaS solutions to streamline machining operations across various industrial sectors.

Productive Machines has secured £510k in funding from Digital Catapult to scale its customer base and expand its manufacturing technology. The investment, structured as a convertible loan note via Innovate UK, will support the company as it responds to international demand and drives resilience in supply chains.

The Yorkshire-based startup developed autonomous milling optimisation software designed to simulate and refine machine settings before production begins. This approach minimises material waste and helps manufacturers reshore operations by increasing local competitiveness.

Following the capital injection, the firm plans to target growth across European and American markets while developing further partnerships. The software is already utilised by various aerospace and engineering organisations to decarbonise and optimise machining processes.

From the founder

"Digital Catapult’s investment will enable us to grow our customer base in the UK and Europe as well as expand to international markets where there is growing demand and interest in our solution. The UK has long been a leader in manufacturing, but with increasing global competition, solutions like our SenseNCTM software will be critical to sharpening the country’s competitive edge and reshoring processes back into the UK. Our next step will be to invest further into direct sales and partnerships, where we hope to demonstrate the value of investing into deep tech, and how collaboration and partnership is key to long-term startup and sectoral success."
