PolyAI has raised £9.2m in a Series A funding round to deploy conversational artificial intelligence agents within contact centres. The investment was led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Sands Capital Ventures, Amadeus Capital Partners, Passion Capital, and Entrepreneur First.

The London enterprise builds proprietary machine learning and natural language processing systems designed to guide users through complex customer support scenarios. This fresh capital follows an earlier £1.8m seed round backed by Amadeus Capital Partners and Passion Capital.

The firm was established in 2017 by researchers originating from the Dialog Systems Group at Cambridge.
