Octopus Ventures led the seed financing, which will support team expansion and product development.
Onin provides a secure calendar application and keyboard extension that integrates schedules directly into messaging platforms. The London-based firm aims to remove fragmentation between personal planning and digital conversations.
Onin has secured £2.8m in a seed funding round led by Octopus Ventures. The capital will be deployed to scale operations, expand the team, and advance product development following the app launch on the App Store.
The company previously raised £750k in a pre-seed round backed by Hambro Perks and angel investors, bringing its total funding to £3.5m. Founded by serial entrepreneur Ryan Brodie alongside David Adler, Onin allows users to manage calendars and coordinate events without leaving their preferred chat applications.
From the founder
"Across my career, there’s been one theme – building technology that brings people together. From apps that helped promote events to ones that found you a date, the calendar has always been central but disconnected. Calendars live outside the conversations that drive them and weren’t designed for the social lives we live today. Onin is solving this problem. Our vision is to build a social world without fragmentation."

Investor perspective
"Today, services like WhatsApp are used beyond checking in with our family and friends. We use these apps to manage multiple aspects of our personal and professional lives – but the calendar is missing and causing friction. Onin elegantly solves this problem. Ryan is a visionary leader and a magnet for exceptional talent. We’re excited to see what he and the team accomplish together in the coming years."
