Omega Crop raises £1.2m from Oxford Sciences Innovation to advance agricultural yield prediction technology.
Oxford Sciences Innovation led the seed investment, which will fund commercialisation and technological advancement.
Omega Crop develops remote-sensing and agricultural modelling technology that monitors farming operations on a plant-by-plant basis. The platform enables agronomists and farmers to predict crop yields and diagnose potential losses early.
Omega Crop has secured £1.2m in seed funding to commercialise and scale its agricultural modelling technology. The round was led by Oxford Sciences Innovation, with additional backing from public bodies including InnovateUK.
Founded by two alumni of the University of Oxford, the company employs a mix of satellite, drone, and hyper-local weather data to assess farming performance. The capital will be deployed to advance its remote-sensing platform and explore adjacent products.
The business began generating revenue in 2020 and plans to expand its operations through 2021 to meet demand from the agricultural sector.
