NorthWest EHealth raises £3m from Foresight Group to expand data networks and product development.
Foresight Group has backed NorthWest EHealth with £3m in growth capital.
NorthWest EHealth provides software and services that help the life sciences sector design and manage clinical trials more efficiently. Its technology enables remote trials by drawing data directly from source electronic health records.
NorthWest EHealth has secured £3m in a seed follow on investment led by Foresight Group. The company will use the capital to expand its data networks, increase product development, and grow its sales and marketing team.
Established in 2016, the firm emerged from a collaboration involving the University of Manchester and local NHS trusts. Its platform allows life sciences companies to conduct clinical trials more cost effectively through direct integration with electronic health records.
From the founder
"The pandemic has strengthened the need for increased data integration to enable rapid trial design, recruitment and remote follow-up. Whilst our software meets many of these needs already, this investment means we can significantly accelerate our development and deployment programmes."

Investor perspective
"The last year has only highlighted the importance of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, and we see the UK as continuing to play a significant role in the sector going forwards. NWEH is a thought leader in the market, and we have been consistently impressed by the team’s vision for the future of clinical trials.
