Northstar Ventures led the £1.2m round to support the commercial rollout of the medtech firm's diagnostic device.
Manus Neurodynamica develops diagnostic medical devices and digital tools for neurological conditions. Its signature product evaluates hand and limb movements to assist with the detection of Parkinson disease.
Edinburgh medtech developer Manus Neurodynamica has secured £1.2m in seed follow-on funding to support the commercial rollout of its diagnostic digital pen. The round was led by Northstar Ventures alongside participation from SIS Ventures and Old College Capital.
The capital will facilitate the market launch of the firm's NeuroMotor Pen across the UK and Benelux regions, alongside ongoing regulatory preparations for the United States. The technology uses specialised sensors and analytical software to quantify fine motor skills and assist clinicians in identifying early indicators of Parkinson disease and other neuromotor impairments.
Chief executive Rutger Zietsma noted that the company has spent over a decade refining the device from concept through to manufacturing partnerships, including an agreement with stationery brand Stabilo. The business is currently in talks with primary care groups following successful clinical trials with the National Health Service.
