Magic AI has secured investment from high profile athletes including footballer Jesse Lingard, bringing its total funds raised to $9m. The capital will be deployed to accelerate international expansion, enhance proprietary ReflectAI technology, and launch new sport specific training programmes and wellness content.
Lingard joins a roster of sports backers that includes former England cricket captain Sir Alastair Cook, dancer Katya Jones, and Olympic champion Desiree Henry. The company develops the Magic AI Mirror, a device that projects celebrity trainers as holograms to provide real time coaching and form correction in the home.
The financing follows recognition as the fastest growing consumer company in the UK by Sifted. Management intends to capitalise on expansion within the global fitness market.
From the founder
"I’ve invested in quite a few things over the past couple of years, but my latest one is MAGIC AI. I honestly believe that within the next five years it will be one of the most creative AI products ever made. I can see the bigger picture — the future of AI and of fitness. More and more people are into training now, and with the Mirror you’ve got your own workout, your own trainers, right there at home instead of always needing the gym. I think it’s the perfect plan for the future."
