Machine Labs operates an automated e-commerce marketing platform that uses data science to improve email communications and increase sales. The firm works primarily with Shopify stores globally.

Machine Labs has secured £1m in a seed follow on round led by Techstart Ventures, with participation from founders, angels Bill Dobbie and Richard Freedman, and the British Business Bank. An additional £100k in grant funding was supplied by Amazon and Scottish Enterprise.

The firm has experienced increased usage during the pandemic as high street merchants transitioned to online channels. The capital will support the next stage of growth as the business expands beyond its current integration with Shopify.

The company has now raised more than £2m in total funding following its initial seed round in June 2019.
