Luna Systems secures €1.5m late seed funding to launch AI safety hardware for riders

Luna Systems is an Irish deeptech company developing computer vision systems to improve safety for cyclists and motorcyclists.
Dublin-based deeptech company Luna Systems has secured €1.5m in a late seed round to launch its first proprietary AI-powered safety hardware. The capital will enable the firm to transition into a full system provider by combining its computer vision software with purpose-built camera units for bikes and motorcycles.
The investment was co-led by Fundracer Capital and EIT Urban Mobility, with continued participation from Enterprise Ireland. The financing supports the company as it prepares to release a dual camera system for vehicle manufacturers alongside a consumer product designed to alert cyclists to nearby vehicles and record ride data.
Founded in 2020 out of Dublin City University, Luna aims to bridge the safety gap between cars and two-wheeled transport. The fresh funds will expand its commercial reach into international markets and scale its engineering operations.
