Kraken Technology Group builds uncrewed surface and subsurface vessels for defence, security, and commercial markets. The company operates from Segensworth, Fareham, UK.
Kraken Technology Group has secured $175m in Series B funding led by DTCP, crossing the unicorn threshold with a valuation above $1bn. The round drew participation from a wide consortium of backers including the British Business Bank, NATO Innovation Fund, and Rheinmetall, alongside several other institutional and venture capital participants.
The fresh capital will be directed towards developing uncrewed surface vessels, enhancing payload capabilities, and scaling manufacturing operations internationally across multiple continents. PJT Partners served as financial adviser and Clifford Chance provided legal counsel for the transaction.
The raise follows a period of commercial momentum for the British defence technology company, marked by recent contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence, NATO, and USSOCOM. Kraken produces modular autonomous craft such as the K3 Scout, K4 Manta, and K5 Kraken gunship.
From the founder
"Kraken is excited to be partnering with DTCP, leading such a prestigious group of European and international investors. This significant funding round will accelerate Kraken’s global roll-out, enabling the deployment of hardened, reliable, mission-ready capabilities for NATO and its worldwide partners at an unprecedented scale in the maritime domain,"

Investor perspective
"The maritime domain is profoundly under-invested, and Kraken has taken a leading role in bringing affordable, mission-critical high-speed uncrewed vessels to the market in a very short time. Kraken genuinely understands the unique challenges around high-seas robotic operations and swiftly responded to NATO requirements, delivering immediate ‘mission-first’ maritime capabilities to secure our waters, our shores and our offshore installations,"
