Edinburgh based workplace safety startup FC Labs has raised £150k in a funding round led by British Design Fund. The company has developed artificial intelligence software and neurotechnology wearables that monitor employee brain activity to help mitigate the risk of accidents caused by fatigue and human error. FC Labs will utilise the capital to advance the commercialisation of its technology, starting with upcoming pilot studies and commercial trials.
The platform integrates with existing smartwatches or utilises the company's proprietary headwear sensors to measure prefrontal cortex blood flow in real time. Supervisors and workers receive actionable insights through a dashboard, encouraging timely breaks and behavioural changes to improve industrial safety.
