Emile Education secures £250k seed funding from GC Angels and private investors to expand its platform.
The funding round was led by GC Angels alongside private angel backers to develop home learning applications.
Emile Education is a games-based learning platform used by primary schools across the United Kingdom. The company develops interactive software for core curriculum subjects including mathematics and English.
Emile Education has secured £250k in seed funding from GC Angels and private investors. The capital will be deployed to expand the company offering and adapt the platform for parents at home. GC Angels provided £100k of the total raise, while angel investors contributed £150k. The platform grew significantly during lockdown periods when it was offered free to schools, backed by the Department for Education and validated by research from the University of Manchester.
The business originated from a Knowledge Transfer Partnership involving game developers and academics from Manchester Metropolitan University, supported by Innovate UK. Following the latest injection of capital, the firm intends to launch a dedicated mobile application for parents, enabling extracurricular learning and support for children outside the classroom environment.
