Continuum Industries secures £1.5m in seed funding led by Playfair Capital and Credo Ventures to expand its infrastructure design software.
The seed round was co-led by Playfair Capital and Credo Ventures with participation from Techstart Ventures and angel investors.
Continuum Industries provides an artificial intelligence platform designed to accelerate infrastructure planning for energy developers. The software reduces complex routing and design processes from months to weeks.
Continuum Industries has secured £1.5m in a seed financing round co-led by Playfair Capital and Credo Ventures. Additional backing came from Techstart Ventures, Simon Blakey, and Michael Blakey.
The capital will be deployed to build customer relationships, accelerate product development, and expand operations into new categories of linear infrastructure such as railways, roads, pipelines, and power lines. The company aims to help infrastructure planning teams accelerate economic recovery efforts by reducing project timelines and construction costs.
Founded in Edinburgh in 2018, the business developed the CI Engine to automate design workflows and enable engineering teams to evaluate millions of layout options. The fresh funds arrive as governments increasingly look to modernise infrastructure development.

"Before founding Continuum Industries, we led a 150-people strong hyperloop team at the University of Edinburgh. While there, we built the UK’s first hyperloop prototype vehicle and successfully competed in contests run by SpaceX and Virgin Hyperloop One. It was the hyperloop moonshot that made us realise the socio-economic value of infrastructure and forced us to think about better ways of taking infrastructure projects from ideas to reality."
