The financing round drew participation from Legal & General, Tencent, and QVentures to support genomics software development.
Congenica develops genomic analysis software for interpreting complex data related to rare diseases and inherited cancer. The company serves a global customer base of hospitals, laboratories, and pharmaceutical companies across multiple continents.
Congenica raised £39m in a Series C funding round following an initial close in November 2020. The investment was led by Legal & General and Tencent, with participation from several other backers including Parkwalk, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Downing, Xeraya, Puhua Capital, IDO Investments, and QVentures.
QVentures participated by broadening access to the round for family offices and sophisticated high-net-worth individuals. The capital supports the company in advancing its genomic analysis platform, which enables faster data interpretation for rare diseases and inherited cancer.
The Cambridge-headquartered firm operates globally, supplying its diagnostic software to hospitals, research centres, and pharmaceutical companies across 19 countries.

"We are thrilled to be supporting Congenica in developing their world-leading technology to deliver life-changing answers. At QVentures, we strive to support cutting-edge technology companies that really change how an industry operates and we believe David and his team are doing just that.
