Congenica raises £39m in a Series C round co-led by Tencent and Legal & General to advance genomic software.

The financing round was co-led by Tencent and Legal & General to support international expansion and product development.
Congenica develops genomic analysis software for interpreting complex data related to rare diseases and inherited cancer. The company serves a global customer base of hospitals, laboratories, and pharmaceutical companies across multiple continents.
Cambridge-based digital health firm Congenica has raised £39m in a Series C funding round to accelerate its international expansion and broaden its product offerings. The investment was co-led by Tencent and Legal & General, with participation from several new and existing backers.
The capital will support the commercialisation of the company platform across rare disease and inherited cancer diagnostics, alongside new applications in oncology and wellness. Additional funds will target pharmaceutical collaborations and integration capabilities with existing electronic health systems.
The financing brings strategic and geographic advantages as the company builds on its established footprint. Lazard acted as sole financial advisor to the transaction.
