Climate X secures £4.1m seed funding led by CommerzVentures and A/O PropTech to scale analytics operations

CommerzVentures and A/O PropTech led the seed financing to support product expansion and service growing customer demand.
Climate X provides a data analytics platform that projects and prices physical climate risks for buildings and infrastructure. The company helps financial institutions and asset managers protect portfolios and adapt investment strategies.
Climate X has secured £4.1m in a seed funding round led by CommerzVentures and A/O PropTech. The capital will be deployed to meet rising customer demand and broaden the company product range. Additional participants in the financing include Voyagers Climate Tech Fund, Blue Impact Ventures, Deloitte, Pale Blue Dot, Blue Wire Capital, NewChic Capital, A100x, and several angel investors. The fresh injection follows an earlier pre-seed raise and supports the firm as it scales its climate analytics tool internationally.
From the founder
"This investment accelerates our ability to scale our climate risk analytics solution, Spectra, and to smoothen the path for governments and businesses worldwide to use data they understand and trust to make multi-generational climate-informed decisions. We’re excited to enter the next phase of our journey with some of the best strategic investment partners in the world"
Lukky Ahmed
CEO at Climate X
Investor perspective
"Accurately quantifying exposure to climate risk is now an economic, statutory, and moral necessity. Without concerted action, extreme weather events have the potential to cost trillions of dollars to the global economy. The built world will bear the brunt of this. Climate X’s platform gives a range of actors across many industries the tools they need to understand, assess, predict and report the exposure of their physical assets to ecological challenges – and in doing so enable them to start planning and investing accordingly to reduce future losses and pain."
