CHARM Therapeutics applies 3D deep-learning protein-ligand co-folding technology to develop small molecule therapeutics against challenging targets in cancer and other areas. The London-based company uses its proprietary DragonFold platform to pioneer structure-based drug design.
London-based biotechnology company CHARM Therapeutics has secured £41.7m in Series A financing to advance its proprietary 3D deep-learning drug discovery platform. The investment was co-led by F-Prime Capital and OrbiMed, with participation from General Catalyst, Khosla Ventures, Braavos, Axial, and Grep VC.
The capital will support the company as it builds out its proprietary DragonFold technology, which applies end-to-end 3D deep-learning to protein-ligand co-folding. The approach aims to target previously hard-to-drug molecules, initially focusing on oncology and other severe therapeutic indications.
The financing coincides with several leadership announcements, including the appointment of Gary D. Glick as Executive Chair and the addition of senior scientific talent from institutions including Google DeepMind and Pfizer.
