Certchain provides a digital and artificial intelligence enabled platform that verifies credentials and issues portable skills records for construction workers.
Certchain has secured £750k in funding from investors Ufi Ventures and Haatch to expand its operations. The capital will be directed towards scaling the platform across major British contractors and developing new competency tools for personnel.
The business addresses compliance challenges in the construction industry by connecting directly with training bodies to automate credential verification. Its platform offers live records and automated alerts to help firms manage regulatory requirements efficiently.
The latest investment follows growing regulatory pressure on construction companies to prove workforce competence. Alongside contractor tools, the firm offers a worker-facing application featuring an artificial intelligence assistant to support career progression.
From the founder
"Traditionally, demonstrating your team and subcontractors have the skills they need to meet regulation or mandatory technical competencies relied on manual card checks, managing spreadsheets and fragmented skills matrices. Certchain makes all this centralised, digital and live. What used to take months can be done in minutes, enabling our clients to take a more proactive standards-based approach to skills management and compliance – with continuous monitoring, forecasts, and alerts on emerging risks and issues across your organisation and supply chain"

Investor perspective
"Construction is entering a period where competence has to be evidenced, not assumed. Certchain provides the infrastructure for the industry to operate safely, while helping workers spot opportunities to progress their careers. The approach aligns perfectly with our focus on investing in skills and the future of work."
