Cariqa builds a unified payment and pricing platform for electric vehicle charging networks across Europe.
Cariqa has secured €4m in a seed funding round co-led by Contrarian Ventures and Anthemis. The round also drew participation from Earth, Anthemis Female Innovators Lab, Golden Egg Check, and Techstars.
The capital will be deployed to scale the company platform across European markets and further develop its technology stack.
The business addresses the fragmentation of electric vehicle charging by giving operators control over pricing and payments while offering drivers consistent tariff transparency.
From the founder
"The market was not going in the right direction. We noticed this personally when charging our car and visiting one charging station: depending on the payment method, you end up paying 50 different prices. That realisation came through a personal issue we experienced. In general, EV charging was inaccessible, complicated, and not user-friendly or user-centric — that’s why we created Cariqa."
