Carbon Re secures £4.2m seed funding led by Planet A Ventures to scale industrial decarbonisation software.

The funding round was led by Planet A Ventures with participation from Clean Growth Fund, UCL Technology Fund, and Cambridge Enterprise.

Carbon Re builds artificial intelligence software designed to decarbonise heavy industries such as cement and steel. Its cloud platform optimises production processes to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Carbon Re has secured £4.2m in seed funding led by Planet A Ventures to expand its industrial decarbonisation technology. The round included participation from Clean Growth Fund, UCL Technology Fund, and Cambridge Enterprise. The capital will be deployed to scale the deployment of the company artificial intelligence platform within the global cement sector and broaden its reach into other heavy industries.

The Cambridge and London spin-out has developed the Delta Zero platform, which uses advanced machine learning to help cement manufacturers cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 10 percent. The software operates without requiring new equipment capital expenditure, offering plant operators near-live operational adjustments that reduce both costs and greenhouse gas output.
