BioOrbit develops compact autonomous hardware to manufacture pharmaceutical crystals in low-Earth orbit. The company focuses on improving existing antibody treatments to enable easier administration.

BioOrbit has secured £9.8m in seed funding to advance its in-space manufacturing technology. The round was co-led by LocalGlobe and Breega, with additional backing from Auxxo, Seedcamp, Type One, 7percent, and angel investors. The company is developing compact automated units designed to operate in low-Earth orbit and produce superior protein crystals for pharmaceutical applications.

The capital will support ongoing development of the company's autonomous manufacturing systems. BioOrbit has previously received feasibility funding from the UK Space Agency and is engaging with regulators to establish frameworks for commercial in-orbit pharmaceutical production.
