The Series A round was led by Atomico with participation from Index Ventures, Norrsken VC and Daphni.
Ankar provides an artificial intelligence platform designed to streamline the patent lifecycle from initial conception to final protection. The system assists enterprises in drafting applications and analysing prior art securely.
Ankar has secured £15m in Series A funding led by Atomico, with participation from Index Ventures, Norrsken VC and Daphni. The capital will be deployed to expand the team and scale operations across the United States and Europe.
The London-based company offers a unified platform that replaces fragmented tools in the patent creation and filing process. By integrating novelty assessments and drafting assistance, the software helps legal and engineering teams secure intellectual property more efficiently.
The fresh injection of capital brings Ankar's total funding to £18m equivalent, following strong early adoption among enterprise customers including L'Oreal and Vorys.
From the founder
"Invention is how we solve humanity’s biggest challenges, yet the systems that protect those ideas are decades out of date. AI will redefine how global organisations innovate over the next five years, turning IP from a cost centre into a growth driver. The companies that adopt Ankar now will shape the future of innovation."
