Anansi Technology secures £1.5m in seed funding led by Octopus Ventures to expand its insurance platform.
The seed round was led by Octopus Ventures with participation from UNIQA Ventures and several angel investors.
Anansi Technology provides an embedded insurance platform tailored for goods-in-transit, cargo, and shippers' interest coverage. The firm automates the insurance experience for ecommerce platforms, retailers, and logistics partners.
Anansi Technology has secured £1.5m in a seed funding round led by Octopus Ventures. The capital will support the company as it establishes new partnerships across the logistics and retail value chains in the UK and Europe. Additional backing came from UNIQA Ventures and a group of angel investors.
The firm provides an integrated platform that handles everything from initial sales to automated claims processing via open banking. The raise coincides with preparations to launch a Shopify application designed to integrate shipments with automated goods-in-transit protection.
From the founder
"We’re building a cutting edge platform to embed goods in transit insurance across the logistics value chain. Our goal is to automate the insurance experience and extend our support beyond Shopify and integrate with multiple ecommerce platforms, insurance partners, third party logistics APIs and in the future, many other services. This funding round will enable us to build more sophisticated infrastructure as we scale and add new features and automations, such as damage, international shipments and fraud detection."
