Startup Funding Club led the seed round to help accelerate product development and national growth.
Ember provides an open banking powered tax platform designed to automate accounting and tax processes for the self-employed.
Ember has secured £250k in a seed round led by Startup Funding Club, with participation from a group of angel investors. The company provides accounting software designed to automate financial administration and tax submissions for contractors and small businesses.
The newly acquired capital will be directed towards accelerating product development and supporting a nationwide launch. Ember aims to remove the need for traditional accountants by offering an automated platform that translates complex financial terms into accessible language.
From the founder
"It has been a rich and rewarding journey so far –recognising a gap, aligning on a vision and getting stuck into building the product – and now we are ready and excited to take Ember to the next level."

Investor perspective
"We are very excited about this investment. Ember does an excellent job of breaking down the mysteries and shedding some light and clarity onto the complexities of accounting systems through an easy to use software and we believe that the company can make a real impact on small businesses. It is easily accessible and easy to understand – not full of jargon. Ember’s processes, tools and real-time notifications are more practical than the systems of traditional accounting softwares that rely on old fashioned processes and people."
