Academy trains and accelerates high-potential technology talent from diverse backgrounds for ambitious companies. The firm operates a selective programme designed to build a new generation of industry leaders.

London-based talent platform Academy has secured $4m in seed funding to expand its infrastructure for developing technology leaders. The round was led by LocalGlobe, with participation from Emerge Education and over 25 prominent industry operators.

Founded by former THG executive Ashley Ramrachia, the company targets untapped talent pools by sourcing candidates from non-traditional academic backgrounds and providing intensive training. Its partner network includes high-growth enterprises and portfolio firms associated with major venture funds.

Proceeds from the financing will be deployed to scale the company's operations and further develop its training infrastructure. The startup aims to address critical skills shortages while maintaining high standards of workforce diversity.

From the founder

"Too many of the most talented individuals are not able to access careers in technology – creating a talent bottleneck for the whole of the tech industry. If we are to build a globally successful tech industry then we need the best people starting their careers in technology at fast-growing companies – the exact talent blueprint that drove THG to its multi-billion dollar success. This funding round will help Academy to create that common talent and leadership infrastructure for the most ambitious companies."
