The Bath-based cleantech startup has raised £142k to take its sustainability matchmaking platform live.
"research has shown that the vast majority of small businesses want to incorporate more sustainability into their practices, but we knew that the existing methods and processes were too time consuming, too complicated and too resource intensive for them to implement. We also knew that SMEs are the driving force of the economy, especially in the food and drink industry. We had a clear problem, we had a large market, and the solution became apparent: we need to make sustainability simple."
The oversubscribed seed round was led by Seraphim Capital and will finance the construction of the company's inaugural satellite.
"We believe that high resolution infrared satellite data holds enormous promise for positively impacting the world. A combination of poor resolution, high cost and infrequency of data capture has held back the application of this high impact dataset for decades. We’ve backed Satellite Vu because it alone has the technology to address all these issues and make high resolution infrared the next major category of Space data."
Accel led the seed financing round alongside existing backers to support team growth and product expansion.
