Turquoise led the seed round with participation from Cambridge Agritech, Deeptech Labs, and Amadeus to support international expansion.
Outfield Technologies develops orchard management and yield estimation software for high value fruit crops using drone technology and artificial intelligence. Its platform operates across multiple continents to help growers increase efficiency and sustainability.
Outfield Technologies has secured £750k in seed funding led by Turquoise through its Low Carbon Innovation Fund 2. The round also drew participation from Cambridge Agritech, Deeptech Labs, and Amadeus. The company plans to direct the capital toward expanding its international reach and extracting deeper insights from the agricultural data collected by its users.
The Cambridge start up provides yield estimation and orchard management tools for producers of high value fruit crops such as apples, pears, and plums. By combining off-the-shelf drone hardware with machine learning analysis, the platform generates detailed maps of tree condition and fruit loading. This technology assists growers in refining precision management practices, curbing chemical usage, and reducing on-orchard fruit loss.
