Fuel Ventures has backed the online tutoring platform in a £2m seed round.
"Our company is run by education specialists and tutors, with years of experience. We’re on a mission to change the way students and parents find trusted and qualified tutors. We want to return autonomy to tutors, tutees, and families, to make tutoring affordable for, and accessible to, the people that need it the most. That’s not a big ask, and we’re well on our way to making that happen."
The investment includes £750k from NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance alongside contributions from private backers.
"We’re pleased to receive support from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund as well as adding some great new non-executive expertise to our board. The funding will allow us to invest further in product development to scale our matchmaking platform and our Discover product, in line with our vision of connecting university research with companies around the world to positively impact on society."
The seed follow-on round was led by Hambro Perks and backed by the founders of Thomsons Online Benefits.
