Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation led the closing of the £20.9m round to support technology development and APAC expansion.

"We are thrilled to have Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation become a consortium member of Proxymity. The UK payments startup raised funds from re:cap and super angel investors to scale its platform.

"We focused on raising the minimum amount required and selecting investors that bring valuable deep payments industry experience, combined with innovative non-dilutive funding from re:cap. We are in a David vs Goliath battle with our larger competitors, where their massive OPEX commitments present a significant opportunity for our nimble, innovative and customer-centric approach. We’ve stayed lean, raised capital in a sustainable non-dilutive way, and delivered products that offer real benefits – there’s more to come in 2025."

The Berlin fintech has raised the debt funding from HSBC Innovation Banking UK and Avellinia Capital to expand its Capital OS platform.

"With our funding product, we’re solving the challenge that tech companies so far would mostly use equity funding to fund their growth. This is a very costly capital source, as it comes with dilution and loss of control. Traditional banks rarely lend to unprofitable tech companies, and venture debt is usually only available for later-stage companies (and often comes with dilution/loss of control as well). With re:cap, tech companies starting from roughly 1m ARR get a flexible, tailored and transparent option to receive growth capital."
