"Not only has the global pandemic provided the catalyst for a mass shift into multi-channel commerce over the next five years, but there is a real D2C revolution happening. Thousands of young D2C businesses are bypassing conventional retail channels to engage directly with consumers."
The company has secured Series A backing from strategic investor Qualasept Holdings.
"Most mainstream database technologies, whether relational, graph, or document-oriented, keep the latest state of the data, throwing away the old data when it changes. In contrast, EventStoreDB, the leader in the emerging class of databases, called Event Stores, is specifically designed to keep the changes along with the business context of those changes, in the form of events. Current state can then be derived from replaying the event stream. This pattern enables a myriad of benefits, including powerful audit, debugging, caching, occasionally connected scenarios, and much more."
The Series A round was led by Notion Capital with backing from Fitch Ventures and several angel investors.
"The need to digitise operational and non-financial risks is now more important than ever for the financial services sector, with the Covid-19 crisis shedding fresh light on the need for data to manage existing and emerging risks. We are seeing a collective desire from the industry for a solution built on collaboration and sharing of information and Acin’s approach is transformative in its ability to deliver this. This funding will enable us to accelerate our growth to meet the demand and needs of our clients."
The funding round was backed by prominent family offices and angel investors including Lord Jacob Rothschild and Reuben Brothers Capital.
"We are delighted to have closed our series A funding round with support from such prominent names in the investment world. The home buying process has had little impact from technology and innovation, which has transformed our experiences in other areas of our life from shopping to food ordering. While home buying is naturally a more complex process, it can still be dramatically improved and optimised. Our e-Homebuying platform will make homebuying a simpler and more streamlined process for all parties involved, saving money and time."
The extension round follows a recent raise earlier in the year and brings total Series A funding to £8.5m.
"We decided to bring forward some elements of our roadmap to be in a position to scale faster as the gaming market explodes. We’re the only company approaching the media of gaming as an infrastructure play rather than a sales play, so our priority is to keep building a scalable platform to monetise games, while maintaining the user experience in-play,"
