The investment was backed by Mercia and Greater Manchester Combined Authority to help the firm scale its enterprise client base.
"Around 40 per cent of brands with a B2B-focus have still not adopted ecommerce, largely because of the challenge of transferring their business model online. Many companies who come to us do so on the back of a two-year failed attempt to launch a store fit for their business. Shopblocks offers a solution. The funding will help us attract more ‘enterprise’ clients and support our goal to become a £50m turnover business."
General Atlantic led the £280m growth financing, which will support European expansion and a new manufacturing facility.
"We are delighted to now partner with General Atlantic, who is an incredible investor and shares our long-term vision of developing the category of Fresh pet food across Europe. It is also fantastic to receive further support from our long-standing partner, L Catterton who we’ve been proud to work with for several years now and who also believes in the power of Fresh and that we are only really at the starting line. Most notably we are incredibly excited by what this investment will unlock for our customers (dogs and humans) in the years to come as we are nothing without them."
The investment was led by Verdane to support the company as it grows its commercial solar footprint across Europe.
"Securing this €26 million funding from Verdane marks a pivotal moment for UrbanVolt as we set our sights on an ambitious European expansion. We are thrilled to have the support of Verdane, a renowned specialist growth investor and fellow certified B Corp company, who share our vision for a sustainable future."
The financing round was co-led by World Fund and CPT Capital to help scale sustainable protein production in Europe.
"Our strides in launching the new factory in the Netherlands and expanding collaborations across the UK and Europe have been significant. This fresh funding will drive accelerated growth."
Golden Record Ventures led the £5m growth round to help Orbital expand its licensing and product offerings.
"We believe all modern, global companies will require access to both blockchain and fiat payment rails, from one single platform, to effectively manage their business in the future. Orbital has been built by veterans who deeply understand the needs of large enterprises, which until now have been massively underserved. Our combined expertise in both traditional finance and crypto means that we are uniquely positioned to serve their demands. Bootstrapped and profitable since 2017, we’ve both grown rapidly and raised financing in a very difficult crypto bear market. Now we’re ready to scale even further and push our platform towards the bleeding edge of fintech."
