The Series D round values the payments infrastructure provider at $1.4bn and includes participation from several existing investors.
"The opportunity in software is enormous, with tens of thousands of incredibly innovative businesses bringing great products to market every year. Unfortunately, many SaaS companies still find their growth hindered by the operational challenges that arise when scaling; from handling subscriptions management or tax compliance to localizing payment options in every market. Paddle was created to remove these invisible barriers so that SaaS companies can just focus on building and selling software. 2021 was a fantastic year for us, but we are only just getting started. We have big plans for 2022 and beyond and we’re delighted to have the backing of so many fantastic investors who all share our vision."
Element Ventures led the Series A round with participation from Fuel Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank.
"The traditional model for knowledge sharing lacks innovation and is cost prohibitive to scale. At Arbolus we’re building a platform that breaks that framework and gives professionals more autonomy. We are driven by the mission of making the world’s offline knowledge digitally accessible to a much wider customer base. We want to index the world’s human knowledge and make that widely searchable for the first time"
Silicon Valley Bank provided the venture debt financing to support the company as it targets further growth.
"Arctic Shores is an exciting Manchester-based innovation company, and it has been great to be able to support them on their impressive journey of rapid growth. We look forward to a continued partnership with the team as they look to scale further."
The revolving lending facility from Silicon Valley Bank and NPIF Maven Equity Finance will fund international expansion and job creation.
"Silicon Valley Bank and NPIF -Maven’s support comes at a pivotal time for our business. The strides we have made in the digital adoption market over the last three years has placed AppLearn on the cusp of transformative growth. This funding now enables us to put in place the foundations to fuel our ambitious international strategy and growth plans."
Temasek led the oversubscribed Series C round with participation from Sunley House Capital and Citi Ventures.
"We are delighted to welcome Temasek as the lead investor. With a track record of investing in category-leading fintechs, Temasek’s insights will be valuable to us as we scale our platform and offering. Managing business spend is costly and challenging, yet Soldo continues to demonstrate its value and ease to customers of every size and across every industry. It’s clear this category will see exponential growth as more businesses realise the benefits and Soldo is well placed to support them."
Silicon Valley Bank and Scottish Enterprise have backed TravelNest to support staycation growth and product development.
"We are excited about the year ahead. The changing dynamics of travel play to our advantage and present a huge opportunity for TravelNest and our customers. Industry data shows that people are opting for holiday rentals over hotels, and there is also a marked shift in travel behaviour with more domestic travel and a preference for accommodation in rural rather than urban settings."
Silicon Valley Bank provided the debt financing to support the company in expanding its real-time payments platform.
"We are very excited to deepen our partnership with TransferGo as we look forward to being a part of their growth story as it expands its cycle of innovation to attract more customers to a faster, cheaper and more accessible way to send money around the world,"
Anthemis led the financing round with participation from DN Capital, Literacy Capital, and Silicon Valley Bank.
"Our objective in the next 2-3 years is to become the leading challenger brand in the Home Cover market. This new funding will help us accelerate our plans at a time when homeowners across the UK need peace of mind more than ever. We are incredibly excited to be able to help homeowners have one less worry at this incredibly stressful time in all of our lives."
The Series B round was co-led by Battery Ventures and Dawn Capital to accelerate international growth.
"I’m very proud of the team’s achievements over the past 12 months, but we have barely scratched the surface of the opportunity ahead of us. There are over 3 million businesses in our target markets, the UK and Italy, and over 5.5 million businesses in the next three largest markets in Europe. Most of these businesses are still using reimbursable expenses, spreadsheets and manual processes to manage the expense management cycle. The time saving and additional control over company spending and expense management that Soldo offers businesses of all sizes is a true game-changer, and we will continue to accelerate growth and consolidate our position as market leaders in the UK, Italy and Ireland over the next 12 months."
The London RegTech firm has closed its first venture debt funding round to support operations in Europe and Asia.
"Our ambition is to create a world where compliance is transparent and viewed as a business enabler rather than a hindrance. Our clients being global means that we already have a presence in many regions across the world. The funding received from Silicon Valley Bank will help us deliver our solution to financial institutions that are headquartered in Europe, Asia and US."
